Cross River Partnership (CRP) used the model to provide an analysis of the economic impact of tourism in central London including year-on-year fluctuations, which has helped shape its Tourism Strategy. Soon after this project started, figures were gained for 1999 and 2000 and a baseline year of 1995 was added.
The project has revealed that in 2003 the figures tended not to vary much more than a three per cent growth or decline on 2002 figures and that;
Geographical area
This project provided data on different levels; by a central London sub-region including Lambeth and Southwark councils, City of London and Westminster City Council and by a tighter core area comprising the Cross River area.
STEAM was initially used in Scarborough (hence the name).

The STEAM 1999 to 2003 report is now complete.
