Vauxhall to Battersea Development Framework
The area between Vauxhall and Battersea, with the imposing Sir Giles Gilbert Scott powerstation as its cornerstone, has been identified as central Londons most significant regeneration zone.
The area, just to the south of the river, is identified in the London Plan (2004) as central Londons largest opportunity area. These areas are places earmarked for regeneration where development frameworks must be drawn up which need to collectively consider broader development, community, environmental and transport issues.
There are a number of large projects and proposals at different stages that will (or could) have a major impact on the Vauxhall to Battersea area. The development framework aims to consider these proposed developments in an integrated, holistic way. A steering group comprising of the projects partners has been formed to oversee development and production of the Framework.
